Course Content

Based around awareness and understanding of identity and exploring the history of classification of certain characteristics within society. Interactive in approach and seeking to challenge all participants to challenge themselves. Using key questions to help participants realise that assumptions behind beliefs are problematic. With a light hearted approach these can be “laughed off” and re-examined through the lens of Equality and Diversity.

The topics covered include (but are not limited to):

• Intersectionality
• Feminism
• Societal bias
• The history of Race
• Macro and Micro Discrimination
• Problematic Language

This training can to some extent be tailored to specific needs or concerns.

This session is recommended for anyone working with children and their families, whether they work in social care, health, education or legal fields.
